About the Evaluator
Jocelyn W. Cooper, LPC

My name is Jocelyn Cooper. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Virginia and Florida, and I have spent more than ten (10) years working with people navigating trauma, family separation, displacement, and major life changes.

Immigration mental health evaluations require a specific kind of knowledge, and I have formal training in exactly that through the Immigration Evaluation Training Center. My reports help decision makers clearly understand how your experiences have affected your mental health and daily life. I work with a full range of immigration case types, with interpretation support at no additional cost. Every person I work with is treated with respect and cultural sensitivity from start to finish.

Here is what a former client shared after completing their evaluation: “You made an extremely painful process comfortable to go through”.

Initial Consultation (15 minutes)
Reach out with your case information and any timeline requirements. We will discuss whether an evaluation is appropriate for your situation. This step is informational and no commitment is required.

Intake and Scheduling (15 minutes)
Complete intake paperwork through a secure client portal and schedule your evaluation at a time that works for you. All sessions are conducted virtually.

Clinical Evaluation (2 to 2.5 hours)
You participate in one comprehensive clinical interview. Standardized assessment tools are administered as appropriate for your case. The interview is structured, but not rushed. Trauma informed methods are used throughout, meaning the process is designed to be as clear and manageable as possible, not to cause additional distress.

Report Preparation
A comprehensive report is prepared documenting clinical findings, assessment results, and professional conclusions. Timelines vary by service tier.

Report Delivery
The completed report is delivered to you and, with your authorization, your attorney. A revision opportunity is included to ensure the report is accurate and complete.

Expedited and rush timelines are available. Interpretation services are included at no additional cost. Please note that interpretation support may extend the clinical evaluation time slightly to account for translation.

In Their Words

“I felt comfortable from the first discussion before the evaluation. I received a timely call back, and you explained the process clearly. I also felt like you had empathy for my situation without adding emotional reactions. This made me feel heard but also know that you treated the evaluation professional.”

“It was easy to set up the evaluation with you, which is not the case with the my limited research that included companies/firms that were clearly process and fee-focused instead of the human-centered approach I think you take.”

“You made an extremely painful process comfortable to go through.”
